Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team at the Neville Island location. The Crane Operator will be responsible for operating overhead cranes to safely and efficiently move materials within the facility, load and unload trucks, and support production operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of cranes and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate overhead cranes to move materials within the facility according to production schedules and work orders.
  • Load and unload trucks using crane equipment while adhering to safety procedures and protocols.
  • Inspect crane equipment regularly and perform routine maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate material movements and prioritize tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures.
  • Complete paperwork and documentation related to crane operations, including maintenance logs and safety inspections.
  • Assist with other duties as needed, including general labor tasks and material handling activities.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Valid crane operator certification/license preferred.
  • Strong understanding of crane safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety manuals, and other documentation.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform lifting and bending tasks associated with crane operation.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
