Rich Ford is needing to hire a Cashier and Service Department Support Representative for our busy dealership. This is one of the most important roles in the dealership. Your interaction with the customer sets the tone for the rest of their experience. Responsibilities - Service Representative:

  • Greet customers at the cashier window with a smile, and in a pleasant, professional manner. Answer customers’ questions about services performed or products purchased or refer them to someone who can.
  • Maintain work areas, ensuring a clean and professional appearance
  • Maintain coffee station and surrounding areas, ensuring it is clean, stocked, and operational throughout the day
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all departments and maintain a positive, approachable attitude when working with internal and external customers/co-workers
  • Compute customer bills.
  • Operate cash register and reconcile cash drawer daily, or at shift changes. Close all open invoices that have been paid for.
  • Receive cash and credit card payments from the customers; record the amount received and provide refunds and credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise or as directed by senior management.
  • Handle customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refer dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution.
  • Review “Ford’s Customer Viewpoint” survey when Service Advisor is not available with each customer, getting a manager involved if needed for concerns.
  • Maintain and file repair orders
  • Provide clerical and secretarial assistance to departments as needed.
  • Greet customers on Service drive within 30 seconds and get the correct associate to meet their needs.
  • Assist the service department with telephone coverage when needed and get them to the correct associate for help with minimal transferring and hold times.
  • Assist porters when needed by keeping lot and service lanes clear of debris and trash and keeping Service lanes clear of vehicles by cleaning, putting paper and plastic down, and parking in the appropriate area.
  • Mark each key tag with its accurate location and pull vehicles up to waiting customers, ensuring they are the owners by matching the tag number to the customer’s invoice
  • Maintain a clean/dry environment on Service drive during all-weather events, preventing slips and falls, and mop up any fluid leaks on the service lanes immediately to prevent slips and falls, putting up the “wet floor sign” when done.
  • Participate in required training
  • Observe all Federal, state, local, and company safety rules and regulations

Qualifications/Requirements - Service Representative:

  • Capability of communicating positively with customers to establish their needs efficiently and courteously.
  • Skill in handling upset customers and making sure they are treated with respect as you work to solve the problem.
  • Clerical and secretarial experience preferred
  • Ability to develop a growing knowledge of our dealership, its departments, and employees.
  • Participates in required training
  • Observes all Federal, state, local, and company safety rules and regulations
  • Must comply with company dress code, ensuring a clean and professional appearance
  • Learn, understand, and adopt the Rich Ford Vision Boards and their principles and read, understand, and follow the Rich Ford Employee Handbook.
