Our Story & Philosophy

We are Mario and Marisela Arechiga, the husband and wife team at the head of New Generation Home Improvements. Building, creating and renovating is our passion. We want to change the difficult and often strenuous renovation experience because we believe it should be as seamless as possible. Our goal is to banish the bad rap contractors get by simply doing what you hire us to do, plus a little more. We have the experience, expertise and know-how to handle a full suite of renovations including major build outs and remodels for homes and commercial spaces.

Position Summary

Construction General Construction Tradesman perform tasks involving physical labor and craftmanship at a variety of home renovations throughout Los Angeles. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, install Tile, install floors, Framewalls, install drywall, paint, electrical and Plumbing install and clean up. May assist other craft workers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performing a variety of tasks involving the renovation of kitchens, bathrooms, garage conversions.
  • Installation of rough electrical, plumbing, framing
  • Installation of finish materials such as tile, countertops, floors, paint.
  • Maintaining a clean job site: picking up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
  • Handling and storing materials
  • Loading and unloading trucks and hauling and hoisting materials
  • Ensuring that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; bringing problems to the attention of the Field Manager or Project Manager.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
  • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions
  • Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in general construction work
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
