Colorado Springs Utilities is a community-owned enterprise with a 100 year reputation of excellence. As a pioneer in providing four utility services (electric, gas, water, and wastewater) in one enterprise, Colorado Springs Utilities cultivates a work culture dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and work-life balance.

What would I be doing?

We provide critical services to our community. We offer 11 Unique Apprenticeships across the following fields:

  • Apparatus Electrician Apprenticeship
  • Electric Meter Apprenticeship
  • Gas Pipefitter Apprenticeship
  • Line Technician Apprenticeship
  • Power Plant Electrician Apprenticeship
  • Power Plant Instrument and Control Apprenticeship
  • Power Plan Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship
  • Service Line Apprenticeship
  • Substation Technician Apprenticeship
  • Wastewater Collection Apprenticeship
  • Water Pipefitter Apprenticeship

The programs are certified by the Department of Labor (DOL) and Veteran's Administration (VA), incorporate self-study, technical training, and on-the-job learning to enhance craft and trade skills. Openings for apprenticeships will be posted on our jobs page when available.

What does a day in the life look like?
