As a plumber, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a clean work area by cleaning up any debris produced during plumbing work and ensuring that all tools and equipment are stored appropriately.
  • Conducting minor maintenance and repair tasks, such as fixing leaky faucets, replacing worn-out washers, or repairing broken pipes.
  • Installing and removing toilets, whether it involves installing new ones or removing and replacing old ones.
  • Addressing plumbing or handyman issues, such as unclogging toilets and mainlines, which may require the use of a plunger to unclog a toilet or a snake to remove blockages from a clogged drain.
  • Responding promptly to emergency requests, including those related to burst pipes or clogged sewer lines.
  • Identifying and reporting significant repair needs to the appropriate authorities, such as detecting corroded pipes or faulty water heaters.
  • Effectively communicating with team members, including project managers and construction workers, to ensure that plumbing work is completed within the designated timeframe and budget.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency as a plumber
  • Proficiency in handling hardware tools and electrical equipment, such as an electric drain auger.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing principles and techniques to identify and resolve plumbing issues.
  • Strong practical problem-solving abilities and common sense to deal with unexpected situations on the job.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in written and verbal forms, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • High organizational and detail-oriented skills to ensure that plumbing work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification to ensure that you have the necessary educational foundation for the job.
