What will you do?

As a Sr. Account Manager for Industrial Metrology, Robotics, and Vision Systems (IMRVS) Sector, you will be the sales lead for IMRVS sector and responsible for working as part of the broader Quartus sales team to help drive sales activity within the organization.

You will be taking ownership of Quartus’ top client from an account management perspective, with a historical focus on custom metrology and robotic vision systems solutions. The goal of this position will be to (a) grow with this key client, building upon strong relationships with the Quartus technical team and program management team, (b) to find and grow additional clients in the target markets, and (c) help facilitate product marketing for the IMRVS markets.

This role will be involved with sales, business development, and product marketing activities, and will have heavy input into strategic planning for Quartus’ future engagement in industrial and adjacent markets. Understanding Quartus’ value proposition and differentiators will be essential to your role, as well as maintaining industry knowledge.

This role will provide mentorship and vision with a focus on strategies that identify and quantify applicability of our technical competencies to industrial markets, while improving product penetration, adoption, and growth in these and other markets.

The IMRVS team has developed and released Quartus’ first product. This role will be working with other team members to drive sales and custom solutions based on this high precision optical metrology instrument.

This role will be a dedicated sales resource to the IMRVS sector, but sales targets include Quartus level revenue targets to help support a one-team mentality within the organization, leaning into the Quartus’ values of forming collaborative teams.

Essential Job Functions

  • Own revenue for client portfolios with growth goals for key clients. Expectation is to become familiar with active and/or past projects with clients to develop relationships within clients to understand client roadmaps and how Quartus can be part of their growth plans.

  • Own client relationships, including contact mapping with engineering and senior management.

  • Activities will include opportunity identification, expansion within clients to new groups/divisions, forecasting revenue and staffing needs to meet clients’ needs.

  • Develop and grow relationships throughout sales cycle, including active projects, engaging with clients to forecast and line up future projects. Qualify potential opportunities and lead deals through the sales process.

  • Develop and maintain a healthy and accurate sales funnel, tracking entire sales cycle in CRM/ERP systems.

  • Identify clients to leverage the key work being done within portfolio for Quartus growth.

  • Understand the clients’ roadmap to help inform Quartus strategic planning and investment strategies.

  • Establish and grow a wide network of clients and partners within Quartus’ defined target markets and the engineering community, with key focus on sector strategy/markets.

  • This role will have a client/market focus, but establishing familiarity with breadth of Quartus target markets and expertise is critical. It is expected that a successful candidate would partner with other members of the sales and engineering teams as needed on broader targets to ensure the success of Quartus as a whole.

  • Partner with marketing to help drive outbound and inbound marketing initiatives for target markets.

  • Help define and manage the sector product roadmap for Quartus, including marketing research and field marketing activities and discover and improve value (for customers and Quartus).

  • Identify current and future client/market needs by establishing personal rapport with clients and others who understand how Quartus fits in the market and Quartus’ value proposition, including input into strategy for how to position Quartus in the market growth.

  • Attend trade shows and industry events as well as educational workshops where clients may be. Attend client industry events and project design reviews/onsite meetings in order to mature relationships and meet key client personnel.

  • Develop key internal relationships within engineering organizations to foster strong collaboration in line with Quartus values of forming collaborative teams of lifelong learners and teachers.

  • Hire and guide staff and support the development of the team’s capabilities, while growing the next generation of leaders.

  • Participate in defining annual goals and leads execution against plan.

Who is right for the job?

You have familiarity with the semiconductor market and their key market segmentation and technical challenges. Past technical/programmatic experience involved in the running/execution of engineering development for semiconductor companies is a huge plus. This is a hybrid work position, located in our San Diego, CA office.

What are we looking for?

  • Successful candidates must be highly collaborative team player who are committed to Quartus values: People First, Integrity, Curiosity and Bold.

  • Ability to build client rapport, debate constructively possible solution sets, challenge client thinking, create tailored solutions, and drive deals to closure.

  • Experience with lead generation/prospecting through market research and a strong understanding of how to qualify opportunities.

  • Familiarity with CRM software and experience leveraging social media to drive top of mind client awareness.

  • With Quartus’s regionally diverse and expanding geographical footprint, this position will include approximately 30% business travel domestically and internationally, based on business needs.

  • Experience selling custom engineering solutions (engineering services and product development-as-a-service)

  • Well-versed in a range of engineering capabilities and applications and/or willingness to acquire knowledge, such as:

  • Computer Assisted Engineering: Design, Analysis, Simulation

  • Optical and mechanical metrology, advanced controls

  • US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Level Degree and 12 years of relevant experience OR

  • Master's Level Degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR

  • Doctorate (Academic) and 7 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering or Technical Degree/Background

  • M.S. or MBA

Senior Account Manager Salary Range: $117,320-$191,699*

  • This pay range represents base pay. In addition, this position is eligible for additional compensation through incentive-based bonus pay.
