Position Summary:
As a Honolulu Sales Development Representative for the Hawaii team, this position serves as the principal CMA CGM contact for all customer rate inquiries for either import or export cargo, is responsible for maintaining understanding of trade lanes to effectively grow our market share, partners with field sales and works with trade/line to provide quotations, organizes and expedites customer contracts to ensure proper construction and filing of agreed terms and conditions, and expediting all issues by quickly resolving to reduce service failures or loss of business. This position supports CMA CGM’s Honolulu office overall business strategy and requires associates who are passionate about customers, can demonstrate the ability to adapt to our industry’s constant changing environment, execute the essential functions and duties as well as the day-to-day responsibilities.

Overall knowledge of both import and export services with the ability to communicate rate negotiations with trade/line management on behalf of the customer/field representative.

Work in concert with field sales representative to promote trade/line initiatives to include, but not limited to campaigns, eBusiness and value-added services, growing customer profile by researching and identifying market opportunities, gather competitive intelligence, qualify sales leads and shipping opportunities via NOVA Business, develop and maintain both customer and trade-lane specific business plans, submission of customer credit applications, etc.

Arranges and communicates with trade/line management rate request quotes via LARA, customer volume forecasting, and structuring contract proposals/filings for trade approval and FMC filing.

Produce and analyze reports including, but not limited to BCO Bookings, Datamyne, Volume trends, etc.

Compiles and collaborates with sales/trade/line management expiring bullets, MQC shortfalls, and expiring contracts.

Provides support to customers with the following, but not limited to, new onboarding processes, collection, and dispute efforts, etc. MISCELLANEOUS RELATED DUTIES or PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED

Skill Sets & Knowledge Requirements:
The ability to establish priorities and organize time effectively.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Attention to details.
To build and maintain a professional relationship, demeanor and etiquette always (tone, approach, importance and sensitivity) with internal / external customers via phone or email.
Working knowledge of commercial and financial jargon of international trade.
Proven computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (Access not required but preferred).
Demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, work with urgency.
The ability to actively determine client needs & accommodate them efficiently.
Ability to develop processes & strategies to increase productivity and provide improved customer service.
Ability to problem solve and or find alternate solutions to customer issues.
Ability to multitask effectively, work well with others and is culturally sensitive.

Education & Experience Required:
High School Diploma required.
Minimum 2 years work experience required preferably in inside sales, sales or customer service.
Minimum 1 year transportation industry experience required,
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
