OVERVIEW
Protect the customer by ensuring all processes are conducted in a controlled manner per internal documents and work standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams
- Use work standards to audit and evaluate effectiveness of processes.
- Utilize internal and external customer quality data (i.e. defects, concerns) to proactively pull, inspect, hold product to reduce potential negative impacts.
- Create work instructions, rework procedures and other documentation to facilitate proper completion of tasks.
- Effectively present data, charts, reports etc. to management.
- Facilitate development and interpretation of process control charts.
- Use blueprints/engineering drawings to identify required inspection points and qualify products (incoming raw materials and finished goods).
- Work to resolve nonconforming product issues within the Material Review Board process.
- Lead customer return process. Identify areas of improvement and work with team to implement as approved.
- Assist in coordinating the daily tasks/priorities of quality technicians.
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school degree or GED equivalent required; Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two (2) year college or technical school preferred.
- Proficient in use of statistical techniques (SPC, control limits vs. specification limits, Cp vs. Cpk, control chart interpretation).
- Able to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, Certificates of Conformance/Analysis.
- Ability to train policies and processes to quality technicians and/or process associates.
- Knowledge and use of 8D, CAPA, other problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining focus on identified priorities.
- Proficient in the use and handling of gages and capable of working in metric and English units of measure.
- Capable of assisting internal audit team and conducting directed audits of processes.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and able to generate effective reports and communications, i.e., emails, audit reports, process graphs, etc.
