SP Murphy, Inc. is actively seeking qualified Construction Project Manager candidates with a minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and document weekly progress and specific issues related meetings
  • Review and approve project related documents prepared by the Assistant Project Manager(s) (Meeting Minutes, Letters, etc.), when applicable.
  • Confirm quality control by frequent and regular inspection of the work in progress and material on site to confirm compliance with the drawings, specification and the contract.
  • Prepare, Review and approve field documentation reports as well as those submitted by the Assistance Project Managers.
  • Provide photographic documentation of the progress of the work in accordance with CSI format.
  • Monitor the work for non-conforming deficiencies, document the non-conformities and ensure that corrective measures are taken
  • Provides constructability reviews for assigned projects.
  • Researches construction contracts, as required, to document and support justifications for recommended changes.
  • Reviews and approved project RFI’s.
  • Prepare and Process Change Orders (including cost and schedule analysis).
  • Reviews and approves Contractor and AOR/EOR contracts and invoices.
  • Ensure all materials received are in compliance with contract documents, that they are stored and handled properly and that they are acceptable for use on the project.
  • Monitor and report milestone and Construction Schedule variances to the Client and/or Director of Construction.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the user agency, stakeholders, general contractor and the subcontractors.
  • Review and Management all project permit issues and permitting resolutions
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the close out work and ensure that all of the corrective measures are completed within 30 days of the issuance of the punch list.
  • Confirm that all inspection and testing are completed in accordance with the testing and inspection plan.
  • Confirm that all equipment release dates, delivery dates, test dates, start -up dates, setting of wires, completion of controls are document and occurs as planned.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer centric working relationships with construction management company’s employees and clients

Education Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in architectural, Engineering discipline, or a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Construction Management.

Requirements
  • Ability to clearly articulate data, concepts and directions, both orally and in writing in a timely and organized fashion to a person who knows very little about construction systems and materials in such a way they don't have to ask clarifying questions
  • Confirm that focused inspections on specific areas of the work were performed.
  • Organized, detailed and displays the ability to work well with others under pressure and with deadlines
  • Familiarity with construction systems and materials
  • Ability to work as a team member and to meet and seek the need of clients without being asked
  • Experience in reading and interpreting, construction documents
  • Familiarity with the built environment
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft project
  • Familiarity with estimating
