Join Our Collaborative Team as a Process Plumbing Designer/Engineer in San Diego or Southern California!

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey as a Process Plumbing Designer/Engineer with Glumac, a Tetra Tech Company? Our dynamic Plumbing team is a close-knit group of individuals, spread across various locations, who actively support each other. In this role, you can look forward to more than just putting lines on paper; you'll work side by side with a diverse team of Glumac engineers across multiple disciplines, taking projects from the conceptual stage all the way to fully constructed buildings.

Why Choose Glumac:

Hybrid Work Environment: We offer flexibility to work from either our San Diego or Southern California offices. This role requires candidates to be locally based, facilitating attendance at client meetings and job site visits.

Team Collaboration: Our Plumbing team values collaboration and a sense of fun, making it a rewarding and supportive environment. We are always ready to assist and provide guidance.

Office Days: We encourage our staff to spend one day a week in the office for social activities and team building.

Your Role:

As a detail-oriented engineer, you will lead plumbing design for multiple projects, focusing primarily on Science & Technology ventures. You will have the opportunity to work independently and under the direction of the project/client manager. Your responsibilities will include executing plumbing design, performing calculations, creating plans for AHJ submissions, editing specifications, attending local site visits, and generating observation reports for projects already under construction.

The Science & Technology plumbing projects will encompass laboratories, manufacturing facilities, healthcare structures, and similar ventures. The role includes the potential for leading a dedicated team focusing exclusively on these projects. Proficiency in Revit, a basic understanding of med-gas (compressed air, vacuum, N2, H2, O2, etc.), and knowledge of P&ID are essential.

Requirements
  • 4-8 years of experience in a related role.
  • EIT, PE, or CPD certifications are preferred.
