In this role, you will:

  • Recruit and manage subcontractors.
  • Estimate on-site with potential customers.
  • Estimate virtually with potential clients as needed.
  • Accurately estimate labor and materials on the quote and submit the quote to the customer within 24 hours.
  • Follow up with all quotes seven times within six months or until approved/rejected.
  • Schedule approved estimates in accordance with GM guidance.
  • Collect deposits before the start of each job.
  • Upsell clients on additional services.
  • Communicate with customers concerning color and other basic preparations before the job starts.
  • Ensure jobs are appropriately staffed and materials.
  • Communicate with Project Managers as needed after the job starts.
  • Attend and contribute at all staff meetings.
  • Pursue strategic relationships on behalf of That 1 Painter (realtors, property managers, etc.).
  • Ensure projects are kept on schedule and within budget while meeting client's needs and delivering a quality project.
  • Help problem-solve with crew leads if problems arise on any project.
  • Generate schedules and plans of operation for painting projects.
  • Identify potential issues and ensure timely decisions are made.
  • Pursue strategic relationships on behalf of That 1 Painter (realtors, property managers, roofers, etc.).
Requirements
  • Two (2) years’ experience in Sales or Project Management
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience with estimating & customer service
  • Strong Sales Acumen
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Ability to learn and work independently in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated
  • Superb time management, prioritization, and organization skills
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and reliable
  • Ability to accurately estimate product and labor costs
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in using a personal computer, cell phone, and software programs

The son of a professional painter, Steven would often help his dad with painting jobs after school and decided to continue learning long after his father retired from the business. While in college, Steven would borrow his father’s old equipment and help paint homes for his realtor mother, her colleagues, and their clients In 2011, Steven decided to leave college and his day job to pursue his calling: entrepreneurial business. He created his company, That 1 Painter, which in the early years was him and a couple hired friends painting homes together. Today, That 1 Painter has grown to 15 crews in Austin and is now expanding nationwide under Steven’s leadership. That 1 Painter exists to help people, through stellar customer service and excellent company culture.
