Metal Finisher- 2nd shift
JOB FUNCTION:
Performs any combination of tasks to grind, polish, and/or finish most standard units and some non-standards parts using a variety of tools and equipment.
Shop hours for Second Shift Mon-Thurs 3:30 pm to 2 am.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Experience
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specific Job Knowledge
Metal experience in stainless steel grinding and/or straight lining and/or metal polishing is required.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Sets up and operates some types of sheet metal finishing machines.
Finishes most standard units and non-standard parts.
Selects correct supplies to obtain correct finished product.
Follows shop routing and instructions.

Misc. grinding hand tools
Responsibilities
Work with an average amount of supervision.
Record time on job assignments.
Complete job assignments on time.
Follow all safety rules, including using all recommended personal protection equipment.
Performs in-process inspection.
Performs preventative maintenance of equipment.
Regular attendance and punctuality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
Reasoning Ability
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee is frequently required to move wrist, elbow, and shoulder with firm grip.
