The Community Health Center Association of Connecticut (“CHC/ACT”) is a membership trade organization that supports the provision comprehensive health care by our members to the people of Connecticut and beyond. Our team of professionals is dedicated to strengthening and supporting the clinical and operational performance of community health centers. Our mission is to advance and align the work of health centers, with stakeholders, to improve the health and wellness of all.

POSITION SUMMARY & FUNCTIONS:

The Membership Services Manager is a dynamic individual focusing on engagement with membership to ensure current and future needs and goals are met. Quality and creativity to deliver amazing member experiences at Board Meetings, events, and conferences is a must. The ability to represent CHC/ACT to external corporate and community partners is critical to success. The Membership Services Manager will also contribute to marketing and media, strategy development, and may contribute to advocacy initiatives. This position will report to the Chief Strategy Officer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Conference Development/Implementation (30%)

· Responsible for all aspects of conference planning including:

o Working with CHC/ACT senior management, grant programs and Finance Department, create budgets for conferences and trainings that value quality and profitability.

o Identify and tour hotel and event center spaces to assure appropriateness, and work with CHC/ACT senior management to complete contracting process.

o Working with current membership and CHC/ACT program leads, implement and lead Conference Planning Committee as appropriate to assure training content aligns with membership needs and grant deliverables.

o Work with CHC/ACT grant program leads and senior management for creation of conference goals and themes, agendas, learning tracks, meals, receptions, etc.

o Responsible for event marketing to maximize conference attendance and profitability.

o With an eye toward creativity, maximize value of vendor booth sales, sponsorship opportunities and other revenue streams related to CHC/ACT deliverables.

o Responsible for on-site operational issues at CHC/ACT conferences including registration trouble-shooting and other issues.

o Assure all conferences are properly evaluated based upon grant deliverables and that relevant feedback is utilized in planning future trainings and events.

Membership Services (30%)

  • With a goal of superior customer experience, create and maintain programs that provide outstanding membership engagement.
  • Working with other CHC/ACT divisions, create and maintain membership database, including all senior and program personnel, contact information, sites, services and other data points as determined.
  • Work collaboratively with contributors to assure CHC/ACT’s website is accurate and up to date.
  • With an eye toward consistency and quality, assure all functions (meetings, conferences, online and in-person trainings) maintain approved CHC/ACT standards.
  • Support the registration process for online and in-person trainings.
  • Assist in the preparation/execution of membership surveys and evaluations and work with others to utilize relevant feedback in planning future events.

Corporate Sponsorships and Membership Incentive Programs (20%)

· Working with senior management, drive the development of Corporate Sponsorship Program including the creation and maintenance of a Corporate Sponsor database.

· Research typical PCA sponsorship opportunities, share information and identify possible companies and transition them to sponsors.

· Creatively work to build new and novel corporate partnership opportunities.

· Based upon current member usage and feedback, identify multiple solutions when appropriate to determine optimal partnerships and potential endorsement.

· When appropriate, identify and cultivate revenue sharing opportunities for CHC/ACT.

· Assure corporate sponsors receive all benefits and encourage renewals and next tier opportunities.

Board of Directors/Senior Leadership Support (20%)

  • Responsible for managing BOD meetings including scheduling, preparation and distribution of agenda packets, recording and creation of meeting minutes, etc.
  • Manage CHC/ACT BOD meetings to ensure a professional environment including testing IT equipment, room setup, and meals/refreshments.
  • Manage the BOD’s meeting schedule, as well as CEO Workgroup meetings.
  • Request/receive and process letters of support for grant work and supporting partner organizations and health centers.
  • Serve as a liaison to BOD by ensuring requests are relayed to appropriate staff.
  • Assist with media/social media.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of CHC/ACT’s services.
  • Depending on the candidate, may assist with advocacy initiatives at the state and federal levels.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
