POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Technician
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance to assist in the physical plant operations of The Tradition. These responsibilities involve maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents. This is accomplished by having a working knowledge of all building systems and equipment and related code requirements, including fire protection and security, structural, HVAC, electrical, landscape and hardscape.
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time or Part-Time and Non-Exempt
REPONSIBILITIES:
Property:
Maintains physical plant common, apartment and exterior spaces.
Maintains property equipment in safe and working order
Service:
Responds timely to resident, family or team member requests
Maintains positive customer service environment for move-ins
Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one year of maintenance experience in senior living, apartment, hotel environment, or equivalent experience and education.
Possesses strong basic handyman skills.
Possesses a basic understanding of fire and life safety codes.
Possesses demonstrated ability to operate power tools and equipment.
Competent in organizational, time management skills.
All general staffing requirements:
Free of communicable disease
Able to physically/mentally perform tasks
Criminal record clearance
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
General understanding of the needs of the seniors
Willingness to learn
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires frequent walking, sitting, and standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, or balance and is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell Activity level is high.
