Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Bloomfield, CT
Full time - 40 hours
$20.00 - $22.00/hr
Skills and Qualifications:
- Responsible for maintaining the entire property in safe, attractive, comfortable condition.
- Assist with all types of maintenance, repairs, and administrative work orders and is available for other requests.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are thoroughly and accurately completed
- Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to listen and communicate professionally.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Full-time maintenance experience.
- Own transportation.
- Own tools.
- Good safety habits.
- Some familiarity with electricity, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and various appliances.
- Satisfies service requests per work orders, following company procedures
- Enters at tenants convenience, if possible,
- Makes repair,
- Cleans up thoroughly,
- Observes condition of general facility, mechanical room, or other areas and
- reports any unusual circumstances,
- Leaves notice of work performed with Facility manager.
- Paints,
- Repair/replace ceiling tiles, light fixtures, display boards,
- Services plumbing, electrical fixtures,
- Repairs or replaces old and faulty parts,
- Checks locks,
- Replaces burned-out light bulbs.
- PM filter changes/belts and grease barring’s
- Makes regular inspections of building, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment.
- Makes repairs or replacements, as necessary and with approval of Facility Manager
- Is on call for emergency duty when assigned;
- Is familiar with power, water, and gas turnoffs, clean-out traps, fire extinguishers and fire hydrants;
- Knows emergency telephone numbers (e.g., police, fire department, Facility Manager)
- Follows all company emergency procedures.
- Assists in maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies;
- Picks up trash on property;
- Reports all needed repairs to Facility Manager
- Assists with other types of maintenance when necessary;
- Attends all instructional classes conducted by management.
- Knowledge of using power tools
- Assists with any additional duties as required by management.
