General Construction Foreman
The qualified candidate must be a high-energy self-starter with a strong work ethic. This individual will need to be motivated by a competitive industry and be results, detail, and team oriented. As a Lead Construction Foreman for ContentoCo, the candidate’s role will include performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks, ensuring workplace safety, and supervising direct field labor. The selected candidate must be an expert at fulfilling customer requirements while balancing profitability goals. Possessing excellent communication abilities, financial understanding, and management skills will all be critical to success in this role. The Construction Foreman must also have the necessary skills and experience to handle customer concerns, adjust manpower levels according to project needs, and to teach employees the Company’s quality, productivity, and safety methodology.
Education: A high school diploma or the equivalent is required. Completion of a Construction Management program or trade-related vocational/technical school or a recognized apprenticeship program in carpentry, construction, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: At least six years of journeyman-level experience in carpentry or the building trades is required.
Skills: Supervisory skills, particularly in ability to instruct others and delegate, are required. Construction skills are required, including the ability to use small hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing devices, as well as equipment and materials applicable to the construction, carpentry and painting trades. Knowledge of the safe use of hazardous materials, solvents, cleaners, adhesives, and chemicals common to construction work is required. The ability to interpret blueprints, color schemes, sketches, and schematics is required. Computer literacy is required.
Effort: Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds on a frequent basis and up to one-hundred pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching is required on a daily basis. A full range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically-powered tools, sprayers, and construction-related equipment. The ability to move throughout each project, including climbing stairs and work at heights from ladders or scaffolding, in order to perform construction-related work is required. Work is performed mostly indoors and occasionally in environments that are dusty, noisy, or which could have work hazards. Near-vision acuity is required to inspect repairs and maintenance, read blueprints, building code manuals and other similar documents.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Building a team environment by leading the project field labor teams
· Development of field labor on established processes, tools, & standards
· Fostering excellent communication amongst the labor force and office staff
· Tracking and ensuring any purchases are appropriately receipted and organized
· Ensuring field labor hours are correct in the time tracking software
· Providing daily construction reports documenting all work completed
· Ensuring vehicle and project cleanliness and organization
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
