We are seeking applicants for an LPN position at our outpatient behavioral health clinic domiciled in Denham Springs. This position works Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with weekends and paid holidays off. Please see the Examples of Work below for additional information on this position.

This position may be filled as a Job Appointment or a Probational Appointment . Applicants may be asked to serve a probationary period that may be anywhere between 6 months to 24 months.

This position is in a Career Progression Series and may be filled as either an LPN-1, and LPN-2, or an LPN-3, depending on the applicant’s level of experience. Please note that there is only one position to be filled.

Salary may be negotiable depending on the chosen applicant’s level of experience . Below is the pay range(s) for the position(s):
  • LPN 1: $19.48/hour minimum - $25.44/hour maximum
  • LPN 2: $20.84/hour minimum - $27.22/hour maximum
  • LPN 3: $22.30/hour minimum - $29.13/hour maximum
Please note that this position may also be eligible for Premium Pay, which is an additional $1.00/hour for every hour worked.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice practical nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

Job Concepts

Function of Work:
To provide basic nursing care to assigned patients/clients in stable conditions and in predictable situations in accordance with the Professional Nurses Practice Act.

Level of Work:
Advanced.

Supervision Received:
General from a Registered Nurse.

Supervision Exercised:
Functional over a group of Practical Nurses of lower levels and paraprofessionals.

Location of Work:
Statewide-health care facilities; correctional facilities.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from Practical Nurse-Licensed, 2 by the assignment of supervisory and/or specialized and technical nursing duties.

Examples of Work

This nursing position provides direct nursing care to clients receiving treatment for mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or medical illness, and is responsible for performing individualized direct client care. This position performs standard nursing services, which may include the following: administering prescribed medications, performing injections, maintaining documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), administering screenings, tests, and other required labs, conducting assessments and screens for new clients, participating as an active member of an inter-disciplinary Treatment Team, etc.
