Job Description: Installation Technician - Low and High Voltage

Position Overview: As an Installation Technician with expertise in both low and high voltage systems, you will be a key member of our technical team responsible for safely and efficiently installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems. Your experience in working with a wide range of voltage levels and your commitment to quality workmanship will contribute to the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low and high voltage electrical and electronic systems, including but not limited to lighting, power distribution, security systems, fire alarms, and communication networks.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Plan and execute installations, ensuring compliance with safety codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Perform electrical wiring, cable pulling, conduit installation, and termination of connections.
  • Test and validate system components and connections to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  • Safely work with a variety of tools, equipment, and testing instruments associated with low and high voltage systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues in electrical and electronic systems, troubleshooting problems to identify root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Conduct system inspections and quality control checks to verify adherence to design specifications and project standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians and assist in their skill development.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including documentation of installations, repairs, and modifications.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure their understanding of system operations and functionality.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and safety practices related to low and high voltage systems.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electrical or electronics is preferred.
  • Previous experience as an installation technician working with both low and high voltage systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with electrical wiring, conduits, and cable management.
  • Familiarity with a variety of electrical systems and components, including lighting, power distribution, security systems, and communication networks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with colleagues and clients effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work at various heights and in varying environmental conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
