HVAC Install Team Lead

Position Summary:
To assist in achievement of the company's strategic objective and annual goals through the delivery of exceptional service and support reflective of Sugar Bear Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electrical (the Company) vision, mission, purpose, and values

Position Responsibilities:
- Create a positive customer experience by completing the service correctly the first time with quality and care to application codes, to avoid refunds and recalls
- Mentor team members and apprentice weekly on team's performances metrics
- Mentor and develop lead installers, apprentice technicians under his/her care to achieve the desire performance metrics
- Install HVAC related equipment according to manufactures's specifications
- Wire both high and low voltage to heating and cooling equipment
- When issues are identified, prepare a detailed finding report with pitchers to discuss with the HVAC Lead
- Install copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing
- Install sheet metal, ductwork, and flex duct systems in residential and light weight commcials buildings
- Properly connect gas lines to heating equipment
- Complete all required documentation, including checklist, including recording model, serial numbers, and install date recorded in Service titan on installs and collect, record and deliver fees to designated office administration
- Understand when to issue a "Lock out/ Tag out" and the required follow-up steps
- Facilitates order for all parts required for appointments and ensure preparedness for the day of service
- Record all material used or consumed on the job for job costing and replenishing
- Work with dispatch to reschedule a follow-up appointment with the customer when the work was not complete during the initial appointment
- Support technicians on troubleshooting issues as needed
- Transport materials and tools to the job site and provide proper accounting of assigned tools
- Keep trucks clean, stocked and accurately inventoried
- Protect customer's home from damage while working and leave customer's home cleaner than when we arrived
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure appropriate job objectives are met effectively and completely
- Inform a manager if the customer does not have fully functioning HVAC service before leaving the call
- Communicate the benefits of the club membership
- Manage to performance metrics scorecard
- Investigate any reported safety issues
- Support supervisor and/ or manager as a resource who can make decisions on behalf of the company for the install team
- Report any safety issues to manager and/ or supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned
- EPA Certified
- A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- A minimum of two year's experience preferred but not required with manager's approval in maintenance, troubleshooting and correcting diverse Plumbing/ Mechanical service issues
- A Valid driver's license and approved to drive by Company's insurance carrier
- Must be highly organized with good attention to detail and follow through
- Posses good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
- Team Player working in a team environment
- Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations
- Must be able to use a computer tablet, smart phone and read a map or follow GPS
- Works in indoor/ outdoor elements with extreme variation in temperatures and weather conditions(heat, cold, rain, snow) at least 70% of the time
- Climbs ladders and steep stairs. Majority of time spent standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching. Often works in high spaces such as attics and/ or crawlspaces
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds with ability to push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices)
- Occasionally works from heights 15 feet or higher above ground
- Carries 24 foot extension ladder alone and/ or 40 foot extension ladder with a fellow-coworker on most jobs
- Have good visual acuity
- Willing to attend training courses to advance skills
- Willing to work hours outside of normal work schedule, if needed
- Available for support to the team by phone (as needed 247)
- Maintain confidentially on all private, sensitive, and proprietary business issues and concerns
