HR Specialist

Provide exceptional service to the employees of Kem Krest by supporting employee relations, talent recruitment and engagement, and by providing the best possible HR support to meet the business needs of the organization while continuing to help build and promote a positive and engaged culture. This position will serve approximately 50 employees in 2 facilities in Phoenix and Canada and will report to the Director of HR. This role will be a hybrid work-from-home schedule with approximately 2-3 business in office per week in the Phoenix location. The remainder of the week will consist of HR related projects as assigned.


1) OUTCOME: Provide Associate and Organizational Support

  • Partner with HR members in providing facilitation and resolution strategies for workplace issues at assigned Kem Krest locations and serve as liaison between employee and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations.
  • Manage and mediate employee relations and corrective actions; advise Managers and Supervisors on resolution options for employee relations issues; provide constructive and developmental feedback and coaching, and explanation and clarification of Company HR policies and procedures.
  • Support HR Manager and Talent Manager in the implementation of business reporting requirements metrics/goals related to employee retention/turnover and recruitment.
  • Assist in the diagnoses of organizational issues, develop solutions, and implement action plans; identify new opportunities where HR can add value.
  • Promote collaboration and positive communication across different levels of the organization.
  • Provide support on additional HR projects as assigned.

2) OUTCOME: Recruiting and Onboarding Support

  • Support recruiting efforts for hourly personnel by working with the Talent Acquisition Partners, assisting with candidate screening and scheduling for efficiently filling open warehouse positions with strong talent.
  • Present onboarding packages.
  • Process pre-employment screenings including background checks, drug screening, and references.
  • Create welcome boxes and announcements for new salaried associates.
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation program for hourly associates including facilitation of new hire paperwork completion, schedule and benefits.
  • Assist with safety training to follow orientation when needed.

3) OUTCOME: Support Culture Initiatives and Strategy

  • Provide hands-on assistance for employee engagement programs, events, and activities: holiday parties, team building functions, community events, etc.
  • Increase employee engagement through company-sponsored activities

4) OUTCOME: Ensure employee training and development is fully implemented and completed by deadlines

  • Assist in performance management training, coaching, and development for employees at all levels of the organization
  • Support the timely completion of performance evaluations and managing records through the company’s HRIS
  • Support the development of individual training paths for IN and monitor/administer training programs to ensure timely execution

5) OUTCOME: Record Keeping support to ensure HR policy and employment law activities are at 100% compliance

  • Administration of company personnel policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Responsible for tracking and documenting all activities and employee records through HRIS, company software, and Excel: training tracking, attendance tracking, purchase orders, FMLA.
  • Perform other HR Generalist and related duties as required and assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • 3-5 years’ progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong Microsoft skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience with all phases of HR crucial: Staffing, Benefits Administration, Training & Development, Policy writing and development, Records Management, Compliance
  • Knowledge in instructional design and training delivery would be helpful in this position.
