Gogo Business Aviation Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electrical design and testing of embedded in-flight entertainment and telecommunications system products. This position is responsible for working in a tightly integrated development team, developing and testing digital and analog hardware, and providing solutions to end-of-life components. Additional responsibilities include layout activities, board bring-up, verification/validation testing, failure analysis, and sustainment activities of current circuits and systems.

How will you make a difference?
  • Schematic capture (Cadence OrCAD) and prototype bring up of embedded hardware designs
  • Component selection and Bill of Material management from design to new product introduction and sustaining support
  • High-speed digital design, and layout including PCI, PCIe, SATA, USB, HDMI, Display Port, Gigabit Ethernet and Memory (DDR2/DDR3)
  • Design review of schematic and PCB layout activities
  • Execute verification, validation and stress testing of hardware consisting of telecom/satcom interfaces, aircraft interfaces, PC/embedded system components and proprietary microcomputers and devices
  • Design of system hardware to meet RTCA DO-160, DO-254, and DO-262 standards
  • Ability to identify and effectively troubleshoot combined hardware/software problems and implement appropriate corrections
  • Collaborate effectively in a small team environment
  • Support the hardware/software design from early prototype development to release of product, including:
    • Requirements and design reviews.
    • Documentation and Execution of Board and system level bring up, testing and debug
    • Qualification and certification testing (DO-160, DO-178, DO-262)
    • Support and develop test methodologies for in-house operations
    • Electrical design release and BOM management using Agile
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of rugged hardware and/or avionics experience preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically to work with contract manufacturers, test facilities, and vendors, 2-5 days per year
Required Skills, Talents & Experience
  • Familiarity of PC architecture, interfaces, and peripherals
  • Experience with lab equipment for design and troubleshooting exercises, including Oscilloscopes, DMM, Programmable power supplies, and spectrum analyzers
  • Board and system level bring up, testing and debug
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Willing and able to take any task and complete with limited oversight

Preferred Skills, Talents & Experience
  • High-speed digital design and simulation experience
  • Avionics industry, DO-160, or MIL-STD design experience
  • Experience designing or testing high-speed interfaces
  • Knowledge of electrical schematic simulation tools
  • Coding and/or scripting experience

Base Pay:
77,600.00 - 97,000.00 USD Annual
Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:
Bonus Plan at 5% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
