Electric Vehicle Technician (FT)

The Electric Vehicle Technician will perform upfit of Hydrogen Fuel Cell EV Powertrains into a class 8 tractor chassis.
Essential Functions:
- Removal diesel engine/transmission/exhaust/fuel system
- Cab removal and replacement
- Layout and drilling of chassis rails
- Bolt-on of FCEV powertrain modules including (received preassembled):
- H2 fuel cell
- Traction motor w/gearbox
- Power distribution and vehicle control
- Cooling module
- HV battery packs
- H2 storage module
- Water/glycol plumbing
- Refrigerant plumbing
- Air plumbing
- HV cabling/harnessing
- LV cabling/harnessing
- Swap rear axle gearset (carrier preset gears)
- Light fabrication work (adding holes or elongating slots in prototype brackets)
- LV wire termination and connector population
- Routing and clipping to ensure longevity of routed systems.
Requirements:
- High Voltage safety training.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal vocational training program in diesel mechanics is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
- Familiarity with repair manuals, technical specifications, and computerized systems used in modern trucks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy equipment and perform manual tasks.
- Candidate must have their own mechanics tool set.
