Our Sourcing team partner with the business to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services that enables the commercialization of our medicines, vaccines and Animal Health products. We collaborate internationally and are grouped into center-led categories and regional operating teams.
Summary, Focus and Purpose
Provide Commercial Carpentry support to Facilities & Utilities for Rahway, New Jersey pharmaceutical research campus and future headquarters for our Company. Support day-to-day preventative and corrective maintenance for the campus. Experienced Carpenter with working knowledge of commercial building operations and able to maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot facilities.
Key Functions

Full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work, including cabinetry
Proficient in the safe use of industrial powered machinery: Table saws, band saws, panel saws, radial arm saws etc.
Proficient in the safe use of hand powered tools: Drills, Routers, Belt sanders, grinders, steel nippers, skill saws, jig saws etc.
Ability to follow safety procedures and demonstrate safe work practices
Proficient skills in suspended ceiling installations and repair
Wall construction and repair. Metal studs, sheetrock and plywood
Proficient in the door & frame installations and repairs
Door Hardware installations: Mortise locks, panic bars, door closers, etc.
Flooring installations and repairs of vinyl coated tile VCT and ceramic tiles
Installation/dismantle of office furniture
Fabrication of crates for shipping
Build and dismantle scaffolding
Construct stairs and platforms
Maintain all shop tools and equipment
Fabricate parts by working from sketches, CAD, or verbal instructions
Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, efficient and clean operating condition
Assist in performing other duties, including work of other trades
Interactions with internal customers, external service providers and supports and contributes to maintenance planning process
Ensures compliance requirements, e.g. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), safety, environmental, goals are achieved
Supports a Target Zero Safety culture
Completes training requirements as defined in training plan | Provides complete written documentation of work including work orders, PM's, etc. and maintains cGMP records related to maintenance and repairs
Utilizes electronic technologies; electronic work order systems, e-training, and email
Education
High School Graduate or equivalent, Vocation or technical school certification
Four years apprenticeship or eight years as an industrial Carpenter with increasing levels of responsibility
Principled verbal and written communications
Strong leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Familiar with all phases of industrial maintenance
