A well established full service construction company has immediate openings for well rounded carpenters who are looking for a career, not just another job. We are looking for individuals that have a wide range of skills; including, but not limited to, metal framing, ceramic tile, drywall, concrete and trim work. Successful candidates will have a strong desire to succeed, attention to detail, excellent workmanship and communication skills, along with the ability to adapt. Our company has a unique resume including, residential, commercial and industrial construction work. We are looking for individuals that have a wide range of skills; including, but not limited to, metal framing, ceramic tile, drywall, concrete and trim work. We have a 30+ year history in Pittsburgh, PA and we are accredited with the Better Business Bureau, with an A+ rating.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 5 to 6 years of experience
2. Must pass background check
3. Must pass drug test.

Salary commensurate with experience, with possible raise after 90 days.

Job Description:

  • Layout, prepare, erect, and assemble forms for pouring concrete.
  • Set, brace, and align forms in place with lumber, timbers, turnbuckles, clamps, wall ties, coil rods, etc. for use in building concrete piers, footings, and walls.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment (such as cranes, rigging hardware, diggers, etc.) to facilitate movement and adjustment of machinery/equipment and install building framework where needed.
  • Use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, plumb bobs, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors and pry bars, electric and pneumatic tools.
  • Measure, cut, and/or shape boards, timbers, plywood, plastic, and other materials.
  • Install barricades as appropriate to eliminate workplace hazards.
  • Work efficiently, productively, and safely to meet productions goals set by team manager
  • Dismantle, stack and sort concrete formwork.
  • Examine blueprints, sketches, building plans to ensure quality work.
  • Perform routine inspections of tool/equipment to ensure safety and quality.
  • Provide direction to laborers and other construction helpers

Essential Job Functions/Abilities:

  • Must be able to adhere to all safety requirements
  • Must be able to work safety in all surroundings, and with team members.
  • Regular, timely, and predictable attendance is required for this position.
  • Must be able to show up on time for Safety Pre-Task Planning.
  • Perform labor under various weather climates.
  • Ascend/Descend ladders, scaffolding, or high structures.
  • Move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work safely and successfully as a team.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions with moderate supervision.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Experience:

  • Frame carpentry: 5 years (Required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Preferred)
