Education: Knowledge of woodworking, cabinetry, joinery and ability to read blueprints as normally acquired through a completed apprenticeship or equivalent of one to two years experience.

Analytical skills necessary to design and fabricate special equipment needed in the institution.

Ability to lift or move building supplies, constructed cabinetry and furniture.

Ability to operate and maintain in a safe manner shop power equipment such as table and radial saws, jointer and sander.

Interpersonal skills necessary to maintain cooperative working relationships with other hospital employees.

Work requires ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
Position Summary
Under general supervision, performs routine tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of hospital furniture and equipment as reported by phone calls or written maintenance requests. Also performs construction renovations and modifications to existing areas including the building of new furniture and cabinetry.
