Jackson Asset Management is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our growing team at Lafayette Towers Apartments located in Downtown Detroit!

The ideal candidate will have experience with performing a variety of maintenance tasks such as minor electrical work, drywall repairs, appliance installation, minor plumbing and general handyman work is needed. This candidate will be someone who enjoys meeting new people, is experienced with helping tenants resolve maintenance issues, has good communication skills, and is above all else a reliable team member.

General Summary of Responsibilities:

• A minimum of four years of related experience and/or training is preferred.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance of electrical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to perform drywall repairs including painting work.
• Ability to perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, windows, cabinets, doors, etc.).
• Ability to conduct general property upkeep procedures (e.g. building, landscaping, grounds improvements) and other tasks as assigned.
• Ability to manage daily workload efficiently and timely.
• Ability to participate in a rotating emergency on-call shift.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• A valid Driver’s License is required for this position.
• Certification/licensure in HVAC / Universal EPA is a plus but IS NOT REQUIRED.
