Ammonia Specialist - Mechanical Integrity Inspector
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Nexus Refrigeration is currently seeking a Mechanical Integrity Inspector to travel to customer locations and conduct inspections as part of a mechanical integrity inspection team.
Nexus does design work and consulting on large scale industrial refrigeration systems which primarily use ammonia as the refrigerant. Most of our clients are found in the food and beverage industry ranging from large distribution to processing, blast freezing, and cold storage warehousing. Industrial refrigeration, and especially ammonia refrigeration, is a stable, thriving industry. The need for refrigeration has increased year over year for the last 50 years and is predicted to maintain that trend for many years to come. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team, working very closely with our team of PSM Consultants and other team members on a daily basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist with inspections of large industrial refrigeration systems throughout the US
· Work Closely with Process Safety Management Consultants in identifying system issues and concerns
· Develop detailed report of inspection findings
· Some Data Entry associated with field projects
· Assist with field verification of system drawings and engineering calculations
· Assist other employees as required
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
· The majority of our business is located in approximately 10 states across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast US with occasional business throughout the country.
· Travel is required up to 80%. The travel schedule is set early on, but will be more self directed as more experience is gained.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Extremely strong organizational skills
· Ability to edit/proof reports
· Very comfortable with speaking to customers/vendors/subcontractors on the phone and via email.
· Strong computer skills and proficient with all Microsoft Office products
· Self-motivated with a passion for learning and growth
· Analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· 2+ years of experience in large equipment / industrial settings.
· Experience in contracting or a mechanical service related field is a plus
· Prior experience in the industrial refrigeration industry is a key plus
· Prior experience in the construction industry is a plus

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
